* The village of Saint Emilion needs little introduction. This charming village with its cobbled streets, numerous restaurants, train rides and wine tours makes the perfect day trip. There are many opportunities amongst its cobbled streets to taste the wonderful fruits of the region.
* If you enjoy a slightly larger town, then Libourne and Bergerac are also close at hand for a very enjoyable day of shopping.
* Bordeaux is Frances fifth largest city and has a wealth of things to see and do, from , museums, galleries and guided tours to visits to the opera or concert hall.
* The traditional local market of Sainte Foy la Grande is where you will enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of this weekly event. It is renowned for being one of the best in the area and is a favourite haunt of many a tourist looking for a bargain.
For those who enjoy a slightly more energetic time, hikes along the Dordogne river, cross country cycling, canoeing, golf, horse riding, and even hot air balloon rides are available in the area.
